This Sofa Has Ruined All Other Sofas For Me
No one wants being a couch potato, but sometimes it’s inevitable and the odds of it increase exponentially when that perfect piece of furniture enters the equation. Well, that’s exactly what happened to me when I swapped my bulky IKEA Friheten for the CHITA LIVING Kenna 2-Piece Modular Sofa. Unfortunately for all other couches, the bar has been raised — and it’s monumentally high.
I’ve always been skeptical about modular sofas, mainly on the grounds that I want my furniture to stay in one piece if possible, so to see that the Kenna collection was equipped with non-slip legs that actually work was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. The legs take away the need for strenuous clasps on the bottom of each piece meaning setup is as easy as unboxing, positioning how you want it, boom — you’re golden. These legs came pre-attached and they’re attached securely with a capital ‘S’.
My Kenna was in the dark gray colorway and it’s such an inoffensive color that it pairs well with any space without sucking out the light from it. The fabric itself is a 92% polyester/8% recycled polyester blend making stain resistance and easy cleaning second nature for the cushions — which are reversible, pet friendly and of course, machine washable. CHITA LIVING took it a step further, too, and made sure its fabrics in this collection were OEKO-certified, an environmentally mindful classification.
Speaking of being mindful, the Kenna isn’t playing around when it comes to cushions, and it has the comfort of your backside at the forefront of its lack of back-slide. These cushions, while removable, don’t budge unless you want them too, and it’s not because of any holders or ties, these are genuinely sturdy, yet cozy, pillows.
Visually, this sofa screams decadence, without breaking the bank on other similar couches that would run you six or even seven times the cost and still be hard to clean, irritable to assemble and tedious to keep in shape. What really ties it all together is how sturdy this piece of furniture is. Composed of real wood as well as manufactured wood, the frame is robust and it doesn’t feel like it’s going to give away, which is something other couches in this price range struggle with.
My favorite part of this sofa is actually something I haven’t used yet, and that’s the ability to expand it in the future. Because this piece is modular, it grows as your space does, and it will remain timeless in design through it all. Maybe you’re not ready for a three-wide and instead want a separate chair, you’ve got a matching set that can transform to be larger as needed.
Modular sofas aren’t new, and they’re not going away any time soon, but the Kenna Modular Sofa from CHITA LIVING breathes new life into whatever space you choose to lounge and it’ll keep up with your lifestyle, whether you’re an aspiring couch companion or busy parent on-the-go.
